Vision to Rejuvinate a Redundant Area
Croxton Play Area
The Project
To turn a piece of redundant land which used to be the former playing pitch for Croxton School - which had closed many year before - into a play area with land around it for people to use as a central community space.

Having raised £30,000 with the support of Staffordshire Environmental Fund, Stafford Borough Council and Eccleshall Parish Council, via new homes money, the play area was installed in February 2008. The design used traditional equipment to blend into the location, but focused on maximising the play value overall, so that the project delivered the highest possible play interest for children using the site, for the grants secured.
Croxton Play Area was opened in March 2008 by Mrs. Joan Painter. Pictured with Chairman of Eccleshall Parish Council, Gordon Dale and local Parish Councillor, Jeremy Pert - March 2008
